Color Throwdown 489-Merry Christmas (in April)

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Vickie is our hostess this week with this classic color combination--red, green, and white.  I paired the colors with the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch for this holiday themed design.  I tried, but I just couldn't stay away from it with these colors!

Merry Christmas card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Faw
I found a piece of patterned paper in my stash that features all of the challenges colors.  After cutting it to size and matting it on a green panel, I adhered the patterned paper to a red card base.  One of the holiday sentiments from Lawn Fawn's Merry Messages stamp set was stamped in white pigment ink just beneath the panel.  I heat embossed the text so it would pop against the red background, then surrounded the text with a trio of green enamel dots as an accent.  A strip of red stitched grosgrain ribbon wrapped around the top of the patterned paper panel completed the design.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD489.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd489 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our April guestie Hannelie Bester, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Seeka.
